Jenna Pirog is senior director, immersive experiences at National Geographic Partners. She was the senior producer, immersive journalism at The New York Times Magazine and a founding member of NYT VR. She has produced seven groundbreaking virtual reality projects, including the Magazine’s first virtual reality film, “The Displaced,” which won first prize for Innovative Storytelling from World Press Photo, the Cannes Lions Grand Prix for Entertainment, and was nominated for an Emmy in the New Approaches to Current News Coverage category.
365体育备用网址Prior to coming to The Times, Pirog consulted with Airbnb, Magnum’s Postcards From America project, The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust (an elephant orphanage in Kenya) and the Apple Design Award-winning storytelling app, Storehouse. She also worked with National Geographic wildlife photojournalist Michael “Nick” Nichols for seven years, was the Producer of the LOOK3 Festival of the Photograph in Charlottesville, VA for five years and served as a photographic coordinator at National Geographic Magazine, where she developed her passion for story development and learned the processes behind producing a world-renowned monthly magazine.
