365体育备用网址Summer Academy is open to high school students (grades 10-12 and Graduating Seniors based on the grade the student is entering in the Fall 2020 school year). Students must be 14 years old by the first day of the program. All students new to Summer Academy are required to complete an online application. Our online application can be completed in a few basic steps. As students work through their application, they may save their progress and return to the application prior to final submission.

- Pay a $50 application fee
- Submit supplementary materials
- Transcript and School Report: Forms must include the school’s grading system and the most recent completed semester grades. Transcripts must be in English and do not need to be official. Report cards for the last two years are acceptable.
- Reference: must be a teacher, guidance counselor, coach or school official.
- Work/Writing Sample: Students can submit any piece of work as an optional supplement to their application (e.g. research paper, poetry, course assignment, artwork, proposals, etc.)
*The online application portal will prompt students to submit supplementary materials after payment of the application fee. Applications will not be considered complete until all required supplementary materials have been received. Failure to submit required supplementary materials by the application deadline may result in rejection or declined admission.
We are thrilled that you have decided to study with us again. Students who have previously attended a School of The New York Times program or course can submit a simplified application in a few basic steps. Application fees will be waived for returning students.

365体育备用网址All applications are carefully reviewed by our admissions committee. The committee strives to select talented student leaders with diverse interests, ambitions and writing styles who will contribute to a well-rounded, and academically engaging community of students. Each application is reviewed holistically and qualified students who have demonstrated both a genuine interest in Summer Academy and a strong academic background will be considered for admission to the program. Our goal is to accept as many qualified students as possible and to place them in courses that are a fit for their academic, personal and professional aspirations (given space availability).
365体育备用网址Applications are currently being reviewed on a rolling basis and we encourage students to submit their applications as soon as possible to increase their chances of being placed in their preferred course. Please note that all supplemental documents must also be submitted in order for your application to be considered.
Application Deadlines by Term
- Term 1 – Monday, June 1
- Term 2 – Tuesday, June 16
- Term 3 – Friday, June 26
- Term 4 – Friday, July 10
Each two-week online course is $2,750, plus a $75 tech fee.
365体育备用网址Applications for Financial Aid & the Diverse Voices Scholarship have closed for 2020. Scholarships will automatically carry over to the online program. Admitted students currently receiving Financial Aid who wish to participate in Summer Academy Online will automatically have their Financial Aid application re-evaluated based on the same need-based criteria.
Financial Aid & Scholarships
Limited financial assistance is awarded based on a combination of merit and need. In order to be considered for financial aid, students must submit a completed program application, followed by a financial aid application.
